When outside noise gets in, it is common to think only about changing the glass. In reality, acoustic performance depends on several elements working together.

1. Glass composition

Thickness, pane configuration and cavity are chosen according to the type of noise and dimensions. Not all compositions perform the same, so they should be defined for the specific case.

2. Window sealing

A sash that does not compress the seals correctly, or misadjusted hardware, can let air and noise through. The opening type and condition of the closure also play an important role.

3. Shutter boxes and junctions

Noise can enter through the shutter box, side gaps or the junction between frame and building. Reviewing these points avoids improving one area while leaving another path open.

4. Installation

The window should be properly supported, sealed and finished. Even a good product loses effectiveness if gaps or discontinuities remain around it.

Before deciding, identify where the noise comes from, when it is strongest and which windows are most exposed. This information helps us prepare a more suitable proposal.

A complete assessment avoids partial changes

Frames, glass, seals, hardware, shutters and installation should be assessed as a whole. At RR Aluminium and PVC, we can assess the space and prepare a tailored solution.
